| | It was on September 9, 1945 in a small settlement of Ghoom Pahar, a baby girl was born. Surya Bahadur Lama and Sanmaya did least know that this little girl would one day become the voice of the Nepali people and would charm many a listener and get to be known around the world as the Nightingale of the Hills. Leif Pettersen
 | Former Canadian Football League player Leif Pettersen passed away of 31st July, 2008 in Toronto of heart attack at the age of 57. Leif Pettersen played for eight seasons in the Canadian Football League for two teams, Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the year 1950. In 1979, he won the Lew Hayman Trophy which was a major achievement. After retiring in 1990, he spent the rest of his life as a football analyst for Friday Night Football and CFL on CTV.
